Cleaning and Maintaining your Gas Stove

Having a stove top oven is arguably the best option for cooking the most delicious meals and during its first couple of months of usage you try to keep it as clean and shiny as when you first saw it.

BUT…..

Although this ideal method of cleaning after every use is a great way to prevent build-up, many of us are simply just too busy, hungry and exhausted by the time we get home from work. But like any appliance, gas stoves benefit from regular maintenance to avoid that costly addition to our home expenses.

What can go wrong?

Build-up of grease, food, particles and other gunk can prevent your stove from operating efficiently but more importantly it’s a serious risk to your safety.

  • Stove wont light

  • Gas leak

  • Carbon Monoxide poisoning

  • Explosion

What do I do if I smell gas in the home?

  • Contact your gas fitter and keep your family outside the home until they arrive.

  • Turn off all appliances

  • Open all windows a doors for ventilation

  • Turn off your gas supply at the meter.
